Water Course Protection Ordinance

The Town of Fond du Lac has a Water Course Protection Ordinance, which is in place to keep natural water flow within our Town ditches and waterways.  This is part of our duties to meet requirements from the EPA, WDNR stormwater and needs related to our outside sewer groups. It is with that ordinance; we are beginning to complete some backlogged ditching issues yet this fall.  Reseeding in the repaired area will be taken care of this fall and/or spring by our Town’s Department of Public Works team.

It is the expectation of landowners, if they are currently mowing the Town’s Right of Way ditches, to keep them free of all tall wild or ornamental, grasses, cattails and other vegetation.  We will be further addressing this on a case-by-case level next year as we improve upon our Towns water flow and removal of vegetation hindering such flow.

In weeks ahead, we have contracted with JGX excavating to rectify issues from sediment build up and past grading areas in ditches on the following streets:

Stanchfield Drive, Southport, Rogersville, Alexander, Southport, Joseph Drive, Fox Court, Fox Drive, Sweet Wisdom, Duley, Mariearl and Stillwater
